Lydia Fransen, LCSW
Outpatient Therapist
Pineville Office
My fascination with the human mind began early. In third grade I did a psychology experiment for the science fair, testing the reliability of eyewitnesses. My passion continued through earning my degrees in psychology and social work, and learning to apply therapeutic techniques at a nearby elementary school with students ages 5-12. I took an intensive training in EMDR early in my career and continue to focus on learning cutting edge techniques, and nothing excites me more than taking what I've learned and using it to help people create real and helpful change in their lives.
I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults facing challenges like trauma, ADHD, anxiety and depression (including postpartum transitions and birth trauma), and parent-child relationship struggles. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, utilizing a variety of techniques including EMDR, positive psychology practices including mindfulness, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and psycho-education.
When I'm not in the office, you can find me on nearby greenways on my e-bike, or hitting the whitewater rapids in my inflatable pack raft. I love any sport where I get to move fast without working too hard. I live in Pineville with my husband, and our two daughters attend college in North Carolina.
We offer a 100% risk free initial consultation, so the first step into therapy is the simplest.
