Allie Kirvin, LCMHCA
Outpatient therapist
South Park
My name is Allie Kirvin. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina with a credential to provide telehealth services in South Carolina. I graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling with an Education Specialist degree. I work with individuals, couples, and families with ages ranging from older adults to children. I have a special interest in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, sexual identity issues, and trauma. I also have an interest in working with families undergoing separation/divorce and familial issues.
I aim to provide a safe, inviting, and supportive space for my clients to heal and grow toward their goals. I believe therapy is meant to be a collaborative process between therapist and client. Person-Centered Therapy is a foundation that is rooted in the importance of this relationship. I may use interventions such as mindfulness, play therapy, self-compassion, expressive arts, and emotion-regulation skills to help clients reach their goals.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I may use pieces of different theories to offer a unique and individualized therapy experience. Some of the modalities I use are trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and more. I believe for this journey to be the most beneficial, we will co-create goals based on the presenting concerns. I am optimistic that with a positive therapeutic relationship, change can happen.
