Jessica Nettles, LPCA
Outpatient Therapist
Baxter Village
My name is Jessica Nettles and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina focusing on children and adolescents, and family and couples issues. My most recent experience as a mental health therapist comes from working with students K-12 and families providing community-based services that focus on behavior modification, conflict resolution and communication skills. My style is very eclectic in that I use psychoeducation and additional relational-cultural interventions to assist clients in creating new and meaningful experiences. My experiences working with students K-12 and families has provided me with more opportunities to further my knowledge and skills for working with diagnoses such as: ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Anxiety and Depression. I also believe in taking a feminist/relational cultural approach to therapy that adapts to the needs and differences of each client while also using more traditional approaches such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. In addition to my previous experiences, my most recent experiences have also advanced my knowledge and skills in: Couples Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy.
More about me: I was born and raised in Mullins, SC, but Charlotte has been home for the past couple of months. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2013 and obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021. As a therapist, I am also working to complete my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. This experience has continued to help me grow as a clinician as I continue to learn more about fine tuning my counseling skills and educating others. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, shopping, and spending time with my family.
As someone who has also struggled with their mental health, I believe we all need someone that we can talk to and gain tools for better understanding ourselves and coping with the challenges of life. I am proud of you for taking that initial step to grow and become the person you know you can be despite what life may throw your way.
Best regards,
Jessica Nettles, LPC-A
