Hello! I'm Lauren, an LCSW with more than 6 years of experience providing psychotherapy to teens, young adults, couples, and adults. I identify as Chinese American, and I have experience working with people with a vast array of racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, and religious identities.

I specialize in working with people who struggle to maintain a balance between respecting individual needs within the context of cultural and family expectations, with those who have experienced trauma and/or loss, and with people who are wanting to work towards bettering their relationship with themselves and others. I have extensive experience working with those who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety/ panic, perfectionism, and ADHD.

I strive to maintain an inclusive, brave space. I encourage therapy to be a brave place, and not a safe place, because it is very brave to show up and work on getting out of the safety of the known and to work towards fostering a better future. My practice has been informed by DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, and attachment theory.

I am a strong believer that communication is key in the therapeutic relationship, and I invite my clients to let me know what is and is not working for them. I believe that therapy should be an empowering and restorative experience for you. Currently accepting new virtual clients.

As a member of the WNC community myself, I would like to donate my time and expertise. I have been trained in trauma-informed crisis intervention and psychological first aid in response to disasters.**
