Schivette Hill, LMFTA
Outpatient Therapist
Virtual Office
Hello, my name is Schivette Hill. I am originally from Virginia Beach VA but have resided in Charlotte, NC for the last 18 yrs. In my previous years, I spent 8 yrs in the U.S. Air Force as a medic. As a Veteran, I have seen firsthand the power of therapy for various issues that soldiers encounter. I am excited to serve military families as well as various client groups including those experiencing relationship challenges and those who’ve encountered sexual trauma/abuse.
As an LMFT Associate, I am very drawn to the emphasis on socially constructed realities, communication patterns, and expanding the richness of personal identities and relationships as authored by you the client. I believe that everyone is living their life the best way they can but also desire to be in a better position than where they are and therapy can help.
I view therapy as a safe space in which people can try out new thoughts, feelings, and behaviors they may wish to incorporate into their daily lives. It is my desire to assist clients in being their authentic selves. On this journey, I’m excited to partner with you on your journey as we explore, learn and grow together. As many of you have struggled with life's issues; I have my own experiences that have led me to this field. I am a naturally compassionate and empathetic individual who wants to assist in seeing each person I work with live their best and most fulfilling life.
My initial approach to working with clients is to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship. I want you to feel confident that I can help you achieve the goals that we set based on your desires. I take a person-centered approach to goal setting, and from there my “marching orders” are to work with you using evidence-based therapeutic strategies to reach those goals.
My desire is to use several different therapeutic methods to assist you. My perspective is that I work for you; therefore you determine the way we communicate, when, and how often. I believe that clients do not only have problems when we are scheduled to meet; I have a very flexible “open door” policy. I encourage clients who are struggling to feel comfortable reaching out to me.
We offer a 100% risk-free initial consultation, so the first step into therapy is the simplest.
